How We Met 

We met on Hinge. I (Zach), was ready to delete my account and swear off online dating but then saw Herry's face. I messaged him, we exchanged hellos and we started into voice messages. We spoke about meeting over a span of two or three weeks but I had a short trip coming up and was going to wait until I got back. Herry, in true form, responded "We'll meet this week or we can agree to move on". Both taken aback and drawn in by his willingness to cut through the excuses, I agreed to meet him that week. It was on our third date that we got to know each other's story and around 9 months of dating we were tied at the hip, warts, hiccups and all.

The Proposal 

The proposal was in Central Park three years later. I, (Zach), was trying to find a secret spot to write "Will you marry me?" inside the park. Herry was on his way to the park. The gazebo I'd picked had now been filled with tourists as it was beginning to rain. I needed to pick another spot... Herry's texting me that he's at the park entrance and I still didn't have the spot... Using the nearest rock along the path, I wrote out the question again as best I could and rushed to pick Herry up. We came back to the spot, rain coming down, my family waiting for us. My family distracted him while I got the ring out. We walked a little ways until I asked Herry, "Hey! what's that?". As Herry got closer to make out the messy chalk writing on the rock, I got on one knee and waited for him to turn around. I popped the question and he responded "Is this real?" haha. "Yes, it's real! Will you marry me?" Herry put his hand out waiting for me to put the ring on him, but my family said "You haven't said yes yet!", "YES!, Yes! Yes!" Herry says, haha.
