Our new Emerald Cut Tourmaline Duo Ring Stacks up well 😍
Not long after, on a sweaty summer day on Diamond Street in Greenpoint, Dylan proposed to Emerald and they celebrated with strangers at a bar, ate pizza and called their family and friends. It’s going to be a long engagement.⁠ ⁠ How We Met⁠ Emerald and Dylan met almost 8 years ago outside of a coffee shop/bar they both frequented in Athens, GA. Numbers were exchanged, but a date never happened. ⁠ ⁠ Emerald moved to New York and Dylan moved to Charleston. They lost touch.⁠ ⁠ Five years later, at the height of the pandemic, they reconnected ….over Facebook (they love to keep things old school.) Facebook messages turned to emails turned to hours long FaceTimes, and finally, on July 4th, 2020, they met in person. They never parted. ⁠ ⁠ About The Ring⁠ Two years later, Dylan and Emerald started working with Olivia and Sue on repurposing Emerald’s grandmother’s engagement ring. The setting they found was unlike anything Emerald had seen, it was the perfect reimagining of her beloved grandmother’s vintage brilliant diamond. (Fun fact: Emerald’s grandmother worked at a jewelry store at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas). How We Met ⁠ We met on Hinge. I (Zach), was ready to delete my account and swear off online dating but then saw Herry's face. I messaged him, we exchanged hellos and we started into voice messages. We spoke about meeting over a span of two or three weeks but I had a short trip coming up and was going to wait until I got back. Herry, in true form, responded "We'll meet this week or we can agree to move on". Both taken aback and drawn in by his willingness to cut through the excuses, I agreed to meet him that week. It was on our third date that we got to know each other's story and around 9 months of dating we were tied at the hip, warts, hiccups and all.⁠ ⁠ The Proposal ⁠ The proposal was in Central Park three years later. I, (Zach), was trying to find a secret spot to write "Will you marry me?" inside the park. Herry was on his way to the park. The gazebo I'd picked had now been filled with tourists as it was beginning to rain. I needed to pick another spot... Herry's texting me that he's at the park entrance and I still didn't have the spot... Using the nearest rock along the path, I wrote out the question again as best I could and rushed to pick Herry up. We came back to the spot, rain coming down, my family waiting for us. My family distracted him while I got the ring out. We walked a little ways until I asked Herry, "Hey! what's that?". As Herry got closer to make out the messy chalk writing on the rock, I got on one knee and waited for him to turn around. I popped the question and he responded "Is this real?" haha. "Yes, it's real! Will you marry me?" Herry put his hand out waiting for me to put the ring on him, but my family said "You haven't said yes yet!", "YES!, Yes! Yes!" Taylor & Anirudh's Love Story 💖⁠ ⁠ How we met ✨️⁠ "We met on Hinge while we were both in graduate school in Philadelphia. Our first date at a brewery didn’t start off on the best footing - I was trying so desperately to be cool that he thought I was bored - but quickly turned into an amazing night when we both let loose at one of the best dive bars in Philly. We decided to meet again the next Thursday. While getting into my Uber, I broke through my usual reserved nature and yelled ‘Don’t meet the love of your life on Hinge before Thursday!’ He didn’t.” -Taylor⁠ ⁠ The proposal ✨️⁠ “We already had an upcoming trip booked to Switzerland, but Anirudh then decided it would be the perfect place to propose. He worked with a local photographer to find the perfect spot that we would both love - a Swiss castle with beautiful gardens and a view of the lake and mountains. I knew what was about to happen while we were walking through the gardens and he quickly grabbed my purse and threw it in a bush so it wouldn’t be in the photos.” -Taylor⁠ ⁠ The ring ✨️⁠ "Taylor gave me an old diamond ring that used to be her grandmother's and she liked the idea of repurposing the diamond, and integrating those old family memories into a new custom ring of her own. For me, it was really important to find a local jeweller, partly to support a small business, but also to get the kind of advice and personalised service that usually is easiest to find in places like Goldpoint. When I walked in the shop, I was pretty clueless on anything to do with engagement rings, but with Sue and Olivia's help we were able to come up with a design that I loved.
