How We Met 

We met at an artist's residency in northern Vermont; Lydia was there for painting, and I was there for writing. We noticed each other without realizing it, so we were half flirty, half shy for 2 weeks, right up until the end of our stay there. It was February and a crazy cold front came in—it snowed a ton while the temperature dropped to -30F. There was a farewell party in the main lounge, and what started as a few dozen people ended up just the two of us walking home in the early hours of the morning. It was total luck that we both lived in Brooklyn. We had our first date a few days later.

About The Rings

We decided to go the custom route for my engagement ring because I really wanted something understated that leaned masculine without getting heavy, and we love the final result. Although we used an antique setting for Lydia's ring, we recycled 2 round sapphires that sat on either side of my grandma's diamond. One became a simple pendant necklace for me, and the other became a Horizon Ring, which we gifted back to my grandma.

We're so grateful for all the care that went into making this beautiful jewelry. We'll cherish it for many years!
