How We Meet
We met in college in Washington, DC in the fall of 2016 and built a fast friendship on our shared interest in politics, taste in music, and appreciation for The Bachelor franchise. A year later -- and to the surprise of none of our friends -- we got together, on the heels of an hours-long first date that featured a delicious dinner and wandering around the monuments. We've been together ever since, through dozens of concerts, comedy shows, lazy days at home, and adventures abroad (and a few too many political campaigns).
The Proposal
On May 9th, just weeks after buying their first home together they finally made it official -- when Aaron caught Abbey completely by surprise with a private proposal in her favorite place (the National Arboretum) before whisking her away for a romantic weekend at their favorite Virginia wineries. They're loving this new chapter of life together and can't wait for their fall 2027 wedding.
