How We Met
It was a cold December night in 2019, in a musty bar basement in Bushwick. Maddie had taken two trains and a bus to see a grad school friend’s band. It just so happened that the lead singer of this not-yet-tremendously-influential band was just as enticed by Maddie’s backless shirt as she was with his girthy mustache.
A few spicy dates later, the newly minted pair decided to test their bond with a weekend ski trip to Vermont. Day 1 went swimmingly, but on day 2 (Sunday, March 15, 2020), everything shut down. The two decided they would make a nice pandemic pod and despite some claustrophobic days (daze?), the two became quite obsessed with one another. When the peak of the pandemic ended, neither felt a strong desire to bark up other trees, so they concluded that this may just be the real deal.
In earnest, we love the hell out of each other and are so excited to celebrate that!
About The Ring
Brian had visited many jewelers before finding Goldpoint. It was a huge relief to finally find a jeweler who was so aligned with Maddie’s love of gold and timeless style.The diamond we used came from Maddie’s maternal grandmother's engagement ring, who was an incredibly important woman in Maddie’s life. Olivia embraced the vintage cut and imperfections of the stone and the final product is a magnificent tribute to our past, present and future.
